Image
HEY EVERYONE  & welcome back to another (hopefully) great year at Rowan!!!! Who's excited to be back I know I am. But I'm not so sure about classes! Even though I'm a senior I definitely still get those first day of class jitters.  Hopefully by reading this blog post you'll feel more prepared and confident to take on your best year or semester so far! Here's a list with a few tips that will help you tackle the year. 1. Buy a planner . It's the secret to staying organized and really maintaining your time. You'll be able to keep track of due dates, upcoming events, work, and whatever else you have planned! Filling out your planner and keeping it handy at all times really is a life savor! 2. Print your Syllabuses . It's one thing to keep at your class syllabuses online but a lot of times teachers won't hand out hard copies. Teacher aren't going to hold your hand, they expect you to keep track of assignment due dates, quizzes...

What to do if You're NOT Going on Spring Break

Let's face it, going on an exotic Cancun or Panama City Beach is crazy expensive! Some of us just can't afford it. And hey, that's ok! Below are 5 things you can do to make your spring break not only productive but just as fun!! 1. Apply for jobs and internships If you're a freshman, sophomore, or junior now is the time to start planning for summer. Applying for obtaining an internship is one of the best things to do and now (March) is the time to apply. If you're a senior now is the time to begin your job hunt. And spring break is the perfect time to start the hunt! 2. Spend some much needed family time Whether you believe it or not, while you're away at college your parents really miss you. Now that you have so much extra time over spring break there's no excuse to hang with them for a night or two. You don't even have to go out anywhere fancy, just spending some low key time would mean the world to them! 3. Spend some alone time I don't k...

Spring Break Challenge Breakdown

Image
So who’s excited about the Rec Center’s 19 day Spring Break Challenge!?! I sure am! The point of this challenge isn’t just to get a quick-fix spring break body, the point is all about overall wellness and just keeping active! A lot of people (me included) need a structured formatted workout plan to use each day. If you’re one of those people the Spring Break Challenge is definitely for you! It’s progressive, meaning each day as you grow stronger the workouts get either longer or a little bit harder. By the end of the challenge you’ll be surprising yourself on all that you have achieved within the 19-day period. A lot of the workouts we’ve incorporated into the challenge are pretty basic; you know pushups, sit ups, lunges, etc. But some of the workouts are a little harder to envision off the top of your head. Thankfully we’ve got Meg (one of our graphic designers) to demo a bunch of the exercises so there’s absolutely no confusion!  Let's start with lying ...

Best Places to Buy Workout Gear...FOR CHEAP

Image
For me, sporting a cool outfit in the gym is really important. There are so many awesome shoes, workout pants, and tops on the market. Just walk into the Nike Store or Lulu Lemon! Bright colors and prints are in for the gym! However the prices these days for gym apparel just aren’t working for me. Even though I would love to, I can’t afford to spend 70$ on workout legging alone! Totally ridiculous. Lucky for me I found a way to wear awesome gym outfits but now pay that hefty price. Below are my shopping secrets that will result in you finding exactly what you need to stay trendy in the gym. 1.      Hidden gem number one: Marshall’s ! Anyone that knows me knows that I’m obsessed with Marshalls. At Marshall’s they have an entire section dedicated to athletic wear. Recently I purchased an entire pants, shirt, and sports bra outfit for around 30$! 2.      Tj Maxx is another place I love to shop. Essentially Tj Maxx is the same as Marsh...
